How and what to recycle?













REDUCE
  • Buy only products with minimal packaging.
  • Make double sided copies and print on both sides of your paper.
  • Buy recycled products when ever possible.
 
REUSE

  • Use cloth garbage bags instead of plastic or paper bags for groceries.
  • Use refillable mugs instead of paper cups.
  • Reuse scrap paper and cardboard boxes.

RECYCLE

  • Recycle everything that you can in order to eliminate solid waste.



How to recycle?

In the world there are three ways to recycle: these are reuse, reduce and recycle.
You can reuse paper, metal, plastic, asbestos, batteries, building materials, clinical waste, composting, computers, electrical equipment, furniture, glass, mobiles, paint oil, printer cartridges, testiles, vehicles, and more. When reuse and recycle materials in the simplest way to eliminate pollution, maintain a clean and an oxygen breathing better. A large percentage of the world household’s still do not recycle enough and throw everything that they consider ‘rubbish’ into their ordinary bin. Much of this waste can be recycled and should be disposed of separately to general household waste.






What to recycle?


Glass 
Recycled glass takes 40% less energy to create then it does to produce new glass.
Aluminum

Recycling aluminum saves roughly 11.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Paper

Non-recycled paper is responsible for occupying over 30% of landfill space.
Plastic

Non-recycled plastic is responsible for occupying up to 25% of landfill space.



The following items do NOT go in the recycling:




  • no plastic bags
  • no lab glass (pyrex)
  • no window glass
  • no ceramics (ex. dishes)
  • no light bulbs
  • no corks
  • no pipette tips
